In our corner of the Chilterns, we are fortunate enough to be surrounded by low lying water meadows which have not changed much for hundreds of years. In the summer the cows graze peacefully whilst in autumn the berries ripen as they have done for centuries.
When the storms come, as they certainly did this autumn, the landscape changes as the fields flood, transforming the green meadows into huge lakes. In the early morning, the mist rises and the sun reflects off the acres of shallow water.
Our bodies are made up of 80% water, so a wander down to the bridge over the river is a quick way to recharge the spirit and feel connected to the earth. When the weather is crisp, calm and tranquil, nature’s battery booster kicks in and leaves you feeling recharged and uplifted.
