Distinctive Enduring Design
Our influences come from classical and historic Georgian cabinetry with beautiful proportions – we love the ‘below stairs’ look and take inspiration from architecture, nature, art and history. The values of the Arts and Crafts movement inform our approach to design.
Quality British Craftsmanship
Our furniture is designed and made to last a lifetime. We are proud to be part of the British furniture industry by making all our furniture at specialist workshops in the south of England. Our cupboards are made from a range of materials including poplar, solid oak dovetail wooden drawers, soft close runners and solid brass butt hinges.
Longevity and Sustainability
Making furniture in the UK that lasts many years, even generations, makes it more sustainable. Our timbers are FSC certified, we reduce our footprint wherever we can and take care to use products that are as eco-friendly as possible within the industry. Any wood waste is reused or recycled.
Matt and Claire Podesta are the founders and creative team behind Huckleberry, with over 20 years experience in design and manufacture in the kitchen and furniture industry, and an in-depth knowledge of cabinet making and furniture design.
Our studio is in a barn near Thame, between the Chilterns and the Cotswolds, an area famous for its furniture and chair-making tradition. Working with private clients and design professionals, we design and make fitted and unfitted cabinetry and furniture for the whole house.
What our customers say...
“Highly professional and an extremely talented – our initial design concept was developed into a truly remarkable bespoke design for a kitchen. Attention to detail is second to none. Highly recommended.” JS, Cotswolds
“We brainstormed concepts together and sketched ideas – it was such a pleasure to be presented with such helpful drawings. We really enjoyed the relationship. Now we have a gorgeous kitchen that everybody is wowed by. I look forward to going into my kitchen every day, it was a special experience.” RM, Marlow
“Our kitchen is an amazing space for us - so much more than a kitchen! It is the heart of our home. From the original design to the final look, they listened carefully to what we wanted and created a family space that really works. The use of colour on the painted wood complements the original wood in perfect harmony. It’s beautiful, practical and the best room in our home by far!” DS, Berkshire
